Jesus saves group from firing squad

Jesus Saves 72 Captives From Boko Haram Firing Squad – published on March 19, 2019 by BarnabasFund.org, this is an amazing account of God stepping in when you put your faith in Him.

The Trial

A group of 500 Nigerian Muslims who had recently converted to Christianity were gathered together after being attached by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram. Most escaped, but 76 men, women and children were taken captive according to the Barnabas Fund contact.

The 76 were taken to a terrorist camp where they were tortured. There were 4 male leaders of the group who were told, at gun point, to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ and revert back to Islam. They refused to renounce our Lord and savior, and as a result, all 4 were shot in front of their families.

The following week, the wives of these four men were ordered to renounce Jesus Christ, or their children would be executed just like their fathers just a few days ago.

The Promise

As the mothers were struggling under the unimaginable pressure of such a decision, the children came running in and said that the Lord Jesus had appeared to them and told them “all would be well”. According to the source, Jesus then appeared to the whole group and told them “not to fear”. He said that He would “protect them”, and that they should not renounce Him but stay strong knowing that He “is the way, the truth and the life”.

The Faith

The next morning, the children (some as young as 4 years old) were lined up against a wall, and their mothers were told they could be saved by renouncing Jesus Christ and returning to Islam. The mothers refused.

The Proof

The soldiers cocked their rifles and took aim, when suddenly they all started to grab their heads and began screaming and shouting “snakes, snakes!” Some ran away, and others dropped dead right where they were standing.

After the men fell dead, one of the captives reached down, grabbed a gun and aimed at the fleeing terrorists. The youngest child in the group put her hand on his arm and said, “you don’t have to do that. Don’t you see the men in white fighting for us”?

All 72 of their lives were spared, and the group has moved on to another region of Nigeria where it is safer for Christians. When the Pastor was questioned by the english interpreter why Jesus appeared to them and not to others, he replied “He does not need to. You have over 200 versions of scripture and many people able to explain the Bible to you. These people do not.”

What About My Life?

Some may hear a story like this with an anonymous contact from another country and question whether its true, or whether it could happen at all. So lets look at it scripturally.

Christians are expected to experience persecution.

What that persecution looks like may be different in other parts of the world. “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.” John 15:18

You are expected to hold onto your faith, especially in the face of adversity.

“You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them, you shall not serve them nor bow down to them, but you shall hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day.” Joshua 23:7-8

Jesus appeared to thousands

Jesus appeared to thousands of people as a man and teacher prior to his crucifixion. He appeared to more than 500 people to prove his deity after His resurrection. He appeared to the Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus as God after He had ascended as well as to the Apostle John in his revelation.

Can we see angels going to battle?

‘And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “ Lord , I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord , and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.’ II Kings 6:15-18

If you step out in faith, the Lord will do the fighting for you, just as He parted the Red Sea for Moses. the requirement from Moses was to obey the Lord. He slayed the giant for David, He just required David to pick up the stone and walk without fear. He dropped the walls of Jericho, He just required Joshua to follow orders.

Jesus loves you everyday and in every way. Put your trust in Him, and let the enemies fall down around you.
