I included this video by my friend Richard from www.jesuslife.us.  This is a great representation of what the path of salvation is supposed to be.  It’s not about religion, or church attendance, it is about a personal relationship with Jesus.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  (Rom 10:17)

If You Are Ready To Become A Follower Of Christ, Here Is What The Bible Says To Do:

  1. You must recognize that you are a sinner in need of a savior.  (Rom 3:23)  The law of the Old Testament is meant to prove to people that you cannot possibly meet the standards of God on your own, you need a savior.  There are 613 laws and 10 commandments, and according to James 2:10, if you break any one of them, you are guilty of them all.
  2. You must recognize that Jesus paid the price for your sin.  Even though you are not deserving of salvation based on your own sin, Jesus came specifically to become the living sacrifice that all those who accept him as Lord, may also accept his sacrifice for salvation (John 3:16)
  3. By accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior you are agreeing to the following:
    • You agree to repent from your sinful life, and turn to a walk with Christ (Acts 3:19)
    • You ask Jesus to come live in your heart (Galatians 2:20)
    • You are baptized in water to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt 28:19)
  4. If you do this, according to the Word of God, you are “Born Again”. (John 3:3)

To Become Saved, Repeat This Prayer:

(Out Loud)

Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner.  And I know that I can’t save myself.  I believe that Jesus is your Son, that he died on the cross for my sins, and that he rose again 3 days later.

I repent for my sinful life in the past, and I want to turn away from sin and follow you in the future.

Right now, I surrender myself to you as Lord of my life, and I ask you to send your Son Jesus to live in my heart.  Lord by prayer and faith I accept your baptism of the Holy Spirit.

I thank you for saving me.  And I thank you for accepting me into your kingdom of heaven.

How Do I Know?

You could read a hundred different ministry websites, and you will see many different ways to do this.  There is no special recipe for what words to say.  It is about sincerity you your heart, and a desire to have a relationship with Jesus.

If you said this prayer, and you believed in your heart that Jesus is the Son of God, then you are now saved.  The next step is to be baptized in water.

What About Church?

If you are not a part of a church, do a Google Search for “Spirit filled churches near me”, and that would be a good place to start.

There is no perfect church.  Church is supposed to be a collection of people who love the Lord, want to study the word, and worship with other people who want to do the same.

Unfortunately they are not all like that.  But it is OK.  Be the love of Christ wherever you go, and always rely on the word of God to be your guide, and everything will work out.
